Samui Buri Beach Resort & Spa
February 18, 2008
Samui Buri Beach Resort & Spa draws on time-honored Thai Heritage and takes a very straightforward and attractive form and is well tailored for the tropical climate. The traditional Thai house is perfectly modified to its milieu. There are many features universal to traditional houses up and down the kingdom.
Whole living areas are habitually raised on stilts to defend against flooding and to permit life to prosper at the side of river and flood plain areas. Roofs are more often than not steeply slanted to speedily carry rainwater away from the house. Many are garlanded to reflect religious and local historical influences. The use of hardwoods, bamboo and dried leaves in the building process helps to keep the buildings dry and chill.
